Our Story

The idea for Willow Pond Pointers is a story that has developed over time with lots of love and hard work. Without my wonderful wife and our beautiful pointer, Bailey, none of it would be possible.

My father grew up on a farm where animals and crops made a living, and dogs made best friends. As long as I've been alive, my family has bred dogs for fellow hunters and loving families. Over the years, I've helped and learned from the best. My childhood was filled with puppies from English Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and Basset Hounds. From this, I learned how to train dogs to become adept hunting partners and even better loving, loyal family members. This family tradition has inspired me to start Willow Pond Pointers, but how we got there…

My wife, Ally, and I met in Plattsburgh N.Y. during our undergraduate programs. We quickly connected and realized that our paths crossed for a reason and would be forever intertwined. After graduation we got married, bought a house, and most importantly bought our dog, Bailey! This was our first German Shorthaired pointer, photographed in most of our website photos and even used in designing out logo.

Bailey tested our patience at first but rapidly became the staple in our family. I spent hours a day working and training Bailey in and out of the field. She picked up everything as fast as I could teach it. She made me enjoy pheasant hunting like I never have before and the bond we share in the field is like nothing I can describe. If you hunt with these amazing dogs you know the feeling. With her incredible bloodline, drive, and loving demeanor we simply knew we needed another. With my family history, we decided to breed our dog and produce beautiful offspring so others could share in our happiness. This was the deciding moment we wanted to make something more official regarding this plan we kept referring to as “Willow Pond Pointers”.

Our goal at Willow Pond Pointers is to breed the highest quality German Shorthaired Pointers with bloodlines hailing directly from Germany and other neighboring European countries who have a vested interest in the improvement of the breed.

Willow Pond Pointers is here for you if you're looking for your next hunting partner, workout/running partner, companion, or best friend. Please inquire about upcoming litters or for any advice regarding these wonderful dogs.
